SSN 3 Episode 7: Ladyfest

Sara is a comedian, improv, sketch performer and producer extraordinaire. She has been part of more festivals than I have time to mention, TO Sketchfest. Some of her most notable credits are her show They Go Low, We Go Laugh, which has been part of the Off-Jfl Zoofest lineup 3 times. She has made it a big priority to create spaces for artists of colour, femme and other minority groups. She is now, the executive director/producer of Ladyfest Montreal, an all-femme comedy festival. When I am around her and see her on stage I am always in awe of her grace and talent.

Dan Carin is one of my favourite comedians to watch on stage. He has a unique, witty, short-structured joke style that makes me laugh no matter how often I hear the joke, which is a rare gem. He has been part of JFL several times. He was part of the Off-JFL Fest Discovery series in 2021 and has recently made his way to the Sketch Festival in San Francisco with his best friend Chris Stanaford. Lastly, he has a weekly radio show, turned podcast called Advice by the Fireplace on CJLO that was recently named CultMTL's favourite radio show.

This is Elspeth's 2nd time on House of Stone Podcast. Elspeth is a Comedy Nest regular and a Just For Laughs recording artist. She co-produces a weekly show in Saint Henri called Stand Up at Henri. She is the creator of the show Battle of Wits, a comedy game show. A favourite show of mine in the city. Most recently she got back from Halifax where she performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival. Performing on her very first TV recording. This is Viveth"s FIRST TIME on HOS. Viveth is an outstanding talent. He weaves his Tamil, Cornwall background, and storytelling style seamlessly into his hilarious material on stage. This has led to him being one of the most sought-after comedians in the city. He is a Just for Laughs recording artist and some of his other credits include the amazing Winnipeg Comedy Festival.

We were LIVE at the World's Smallest Comedy Festival! This is SUCH a good episode with the hilarious duo and friends Mike Meo and Samson Cooperman. We talk about the best day of our lives and we get REAL. Thank you WSCF for having us! It was such a thrill!
Samson is one of the most unpredictable and hilarious comedians in Montreal. His creative mind is none stop and he blows me away with his genius comedic style and the crazy stories that he gets himself into. I also consider him a great friend and I am so happy to finally have you on HOS. Mike Meo, the second time on the podcast. He had been seen on Off Jfl and was named Comedy Nest's Top Guns of Comedy twice (the only comedian to get it twice). He has been described as a troublemaker on stage, his style of comedy is original yet has influences of some of the greats, like Norm Macdonald and Bill hicks.

SSN 3 Episode 3: Rural

We are back with a new episode of HOS and it's a GOOD one! We have guests Jackie Agnew and Jonny Divito. They talk about being a comedy couple, how they met and being from a small town in BC. ENJOY!
Jackie Agnew is a delight both on stage and off. Her infectious smile led to audiences being stunned (in the best way) with her dark and dirty comedy style. Jonny Devitto mixes dirtbag and comedy flawlessly in his autobiographical storytelling style of comedy on stage. Both Jackie and Jonny hail from Vancouver and made their way here together in the fall. They have quickly established themselves in their new city. They both have a podcast together called “Show Me Yours”, where they mix their love of music and comedy. Every week, they discuss a different album, but also Bigfoot, mostly Bigfoot. Sometimes they’re joined by other local comics and musicians, other times they can’t get anyone to agree to spend an hour with them. They describe it as a music podcast, sorta.

Two of Abby's favourite people are back on the podcast and it's an electric episode. Mariam Khan and John Cotrocois are back and they talk about everything from prom dates, comedy and being toxic AF. ENJOY!
Mariam is an actor and comedian hailing from this great city. She is the producer of two shows here in Montreal called, Better than your therapist and I don't belong here. She had been seen on Zoofest and was involved in bringing us Unknown comedy, and VR comedy shows with Rodney Ramsay. I love Mariam's comedy style, she is cutthroat and hilarious.
John is a favourite comedian and storyteller in Montreal. Since we have seen him last his just for laughs recording came out on the album called Margarine for Error. This is John’s third time on the pod, he is one of HOS's favourites and we are so pumped to have you here at MV studio.

SSN 3 Episode 1: Uncuffed

We are BACK with a new season on House of Stone! In our inaugural episode in our new studio at ManyVids! In this episode, we talk about bad breakups with the breakup queens Michelle Forrester and Eva Alexo. We also talk about comedy, social media trolls and friendships. Enjoy! It's good to be back.
Michelle is now a Toronto-based comedian originally from Montreal. In 2023 she was named one of JFL’s New Faces. A title that all comedians want and can only dream about having now. She is also a writer for Writers Room Sketch Show, which was the CBC/JFL pitch winner in 2023. She brought us Giggle Fest last year, she is the podcast host of “Is it Me” and is now Co-host of Uncuffed. Eva is now a JFL veteran. She is a JFL recording artist 2 times over now, with a TV taping recorded this winter. She is the creator and producer of the most attended comedy show in the city Kickback, Montreal’s one and only comedy party. Eva is a visionary who has brought her show across Canada and has sold out pretty much everywhere. She is now the co-host of Uncuffed with Michelle and doing the same thing.

A native of Montreal, Tyler is a multidisciplinary artist who paints, performs, and produces a slew of content. Kyra Carleton is a comedian, writer and improviser born and raised in Montreal. Over the last three years, she has shared her wholesome edge, witty wordplay and candid storytelling with audiences all over Canada. She hosted and featured in Just For Laughs/Zoofest’s Discovery Series in 2023 and has opened for a variety of artists including DJ Demers, Arthur Simeon, Chris Robinson, Casey Corbin and more. Kyra is currently a weekend regular at Montreal’s iconic Comedy Nest and 3rd Floor Comedy Club.

A staple of the Montreal comedy scene, Kris Dulgar brings his Caribbean/Immigrant experience to the stage with hilarity. His sharp wit and storytelling approach have audiences in stitches, he has been named best-unemployed comic by his brown mother several years in a row. When I say staple of the Montreal comedy scene, I mean it. Kris has been a pivotal part of my comedy career, hosting many open mics around the city. He is supportive and is always a friendly face when you walk into a room.
